Responsible, Respectful, Resourceful, Resilient

World Languages

A world map with the word 'Hello' in gold letters surrounded by greetings in various languages. The Rosemead High School world languages department teaches students to communicate in languages other than English while promoting cultural awareness and global understanding. Through speaking, listening, reading, and writing, students develop language proficiency and appreciation for diverse cultures. The department prepares students for real-world interactions, travel, and future career opportunities in a global society.

We offer Mandarin and Spanish in our World Languages Department. We offer both native (X) and non-native (P) courses in Spanish as well as Advanced Placement courses for language and literature in Spanish. We also offer three levels of Mandarin.

Seal of Biliteracy

The Seal of Biliteracy is an award given by a school, school district, or state in recognition of students who have studied and attained proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation. Our vision is to help students recognize the value of their academic success and see the tangible benefits of being bilingual.
